Whitsundays Arts Festival 2022

Workshops

The Whitsundays Arts Festival is offering an exciting and extensive program of art workshops in 2022. Get involved in art as artists-in-residence take participants through a series of free and ticketed workshops designed as an opportunity to have fun, learn or develop a new skill, network with your community, and create an art piece to take home.

The professional workshop series will be held from 17-24 September in the workshop space at Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat, and on 24-25 September at the Festival site in Fairy Tree Park on the Airlie Beach foreshore.

These workshops are open to the public for a nominal workshop fee. Numbers for all workshops are limited.

There will also be free workshops for children at the Fairy Tree Park on the Foreshore Festivities Day, Sunday 25 September, along with fun and interactive programming for the whole family.

As well as this professional series program, there are free workshops assisting visiting artists to produce exciting art installations that will be installed on the festival site on Saturday 24 September. These include sting rays made from rope and recycled materials with Marion Gaemers and Lynnette Griffiths, and painted memory boards with Amanda Sadler.

Plus, become a Friend of the Festival (just $45) and with your annual membership you'll not only $5 off each workshop you book, you'll also get your very own Festival t-shirt, valued at $25!
